Just received it yesterday and immediately opened it and gave it a test run in case i needed to return it.
My otoscope was delivered i think 4 days before it was scheduled too.

The otoscope comes packaged well in its own hard case, they even send you with the first battery.
It comes in a very protective foam lined case with color pictures of normal and infected eardrums on the box.
Competitiveness
My everyday comparison is to the welch allyn otoscopes with led bulbs at my office.
I liked the illumination and clarity of this otoscope better than most of the $300 otoscopes i've used.
This vendor sells a few different models.
