Could be the black color i opted for, but maybe that's what bose is going for, a timeless look.
Competitiveness
This has got to be the best new speaker on the market, and of course it has to come from bose.
The sound quality is phenomenal and even better than their old version.
I thought that was still a little high but at least in the ballpark to competitors.
There are other brands that i won't mention here that handle them much better.

It charges quickly and it tells you its charge level each time you turn it on

I did have an issue with it when it first arrived after plugging into a standard usb port no lights came on when charging
