It is super simple to clean and refill, and the filter and motor are easy to install.
I tossed away the old water fountain (which still works), because it was noisy and had many plastic components.
You will still need to clean the system regularly to avoid slimy water & plaque build up, but not every day.

99 -- i had my eye on this particular fountain for several weeks but was not willing to pay full price.
I purchased this water fountain when it was on sale for $19.
