Years ago i bought the mustang amp and was disappointed with all the simulated tones as all i wanted was a pure sound.

Effects sounded like they were coming from a 3k rig.

Buy this amp, buy this amp, buy this amp and be amazed at what you get for the price.

Surprisingly good sounds for a budget amp.

And no more $175+ every 3-6 months on new tubes.

The champion 100 only cost me $320 with discounts.

Shipping

I ordered my fender amp and it arrived on time and in awesome condition.

Every place i looked was out of stock, and it took me a week or two to luck into finding one in stock at amazon.

Initially i ordered the 40w but the shipment got lost and never showed up so i ordered the 50w and am glad the 40 never arrived.

Competitiveness

Compared the two and also to some other brands of same specs, i think i made the right choice.

I like the fact this is an open back amp as compared to the mustangs which are closed back.

It is not exact by far, but they are definately better toned than most other amp tones that are competing at this price point.

I didn’t get a chance to play the 40 so i can’t compare but the 50xl has a better speaker with more power for only a few more dollars.
