Quality

The display is easy to read and the in/frac/mm readout is very handy.

Had these for 7 years and still going strong.

I bought these for basic home mechanic duties, measuring bearings, brake rotors, sheet metal thickness, etc.

I want it to last, and i wanted something more precise/accurate than plastic.

Price

I didn't want to spend a fortune, i already have a caliper, and new mitutoyos are like $200 for a digital one.

Competitiveness

I also tried measuring using different parts of the igaging calipers' jaws and the reading was identical the entire length.

By the looks of it, i suspect other companies make this same caliper.
