Pros & Cons
Pros
The oldest pair i have had for 6 years the only thing that is showing is a little wear and tear cracking of the earcup cushions. It's really my fault and not the earphone's fault, which is why i bought another pair. I let him borrow them and he brough... Read More
They're not 90's nokia phone in titanium edition, but they are sturdy and got some weight to them. They are comfortable, durable, and bass-heavy so that you can cue your tracks in a noisy nightclub.
Sony mdrv700 are by far the best headphones available outthere for dj.
Cons
If you are serious about music check out the sennheiser hd 650, seriously amazing. If you really want closed headphones in $120 price range get the sony mdr-v600 studio monitor series headphones. The mdr-v700dj headphones have an appealing look (c'mon... Read More
The base is loud and booming without a doubt, but it isn't deep or resonating at all. It just muddies up everything else and ends up being obnoxious in any type of song that isn't dance or hip hop. The sound still sounds fine, but the swivels are in s... Read More
Pressure is put on the seam of the plastic hinge/joint. Left earcup t-bone snapped after 1 month of usage. The swivel points for the ear cups are plastic and will eventually break.
These things are discontinued. They are way overpriced. For the price, the longevity of these is a shame.
The hinge is delicate and virtually impossible to fix by hand.

Highlights
Quality
The latest pair i purchased i have had now for 4 years and no problems - excellent sound clarity, plenty bass and highs.
After almost two years of use, i've had no issues with build quality, breakage, cracking, etc.
After 6 years of heavy use, they finnally broke.
Last week i just noticed the 1/4 inch tip adapter of the headphone fell apart (it lasted me 4 years heavy use!
Price
At $75 they were a great deal.
Excellent purchase for the pricing (about $84 from amazon) with free shipping except for the below issue.
The fact that it sells for $149.
(and i got mine for $60 as a refurb, haha!
Shipping
I traveled to less than favorable places under less than favorable conditions and beat the ever living crap out of them.
The product arrived much sooner than expected and am extremely!
At the time i have both this, it came packed in the original package and on time.
Packaging/appearance
No cracks (yet), even the box it came in was pretty much pristine.
Competitiveness
There are slightly better phones out there, but these phones were i grew up with (along with koss porta pros) and i still have them today.
Comfortable, and the bass was comparable to those high end models that run for hundreds more.
I recently purchased this item because i was looking fora pair of headphones that didn't cost so much and where as good as or i... Read More
