Sound Quality
Customers have mixed opinions regarding the sound quality of the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds. While some are pleased with the sound and have made custom EQ settings to enhance their listening experience, others find the sound lacking, with some mentioning tinny audio and poor bass. Some customers also reported issues with mic quality and connection stability. However, many are satisfied with the ambient sound mode and overall sound improvement after updates.
Noise Cancellation
Customers have mixed opinions regarding the noise cancellation feature of the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds. While some are pleased with its effectiveness, others find it inadequate and not up to par with competitors like Bose. Some users have encountered issues with the earbuds not reducing sound at all or having to switch to active noise cancellation every time they put them in their ears. However, the battery life is generally praised as being better than previous models and competitors.

Perfect sound, tue best noise reduction, but the ear tips are terrible.
Competitiveness
Battery is great so far, better than xm4’s, beats fit pro, and the bose ultra’s i’ve used too.
The bose ultras may beat the sony’s on this, but barely, and the form factor sucks.
Not apple/beats elite, but the best out of the others in my opinion.
Sennheisers might be better in this category.

These are very light and unobtrusive the sound is fine probably too bass heavy for audiophiles but you can adjust noise canceling is okayim using the biggest of the foam tips because i want a tight fit to keep them secure and to help block noise but the foam is just not dense enough so it never feels that secure and you get sound leakage the anc cant block
