I got these headphones, and i was speechless by the noise cancelling, it's finally to a level close to wearing ear plugs at a gun range.
I got the xm4s a long time ago and i know their sound quality has slightly degraded.

Also some quirks that impressed me that people dont buy headphones forthe interaction feedback sounds are super cool like bass strings when u interact with buttons and trackpad unlike the annoying beeps and ugly sounding female voice on the xm4

They also got rid of manual optimization which may have been a gimmick but nonetheless the headphones feel more futuristic through all the simplicity added to the experience
